Trying to get my heater to work
I have a Truma gas heater which I am trying to get to work but the instructions diagrams don't match up with the actual dials. I'm assuming it's an S3002 but can't see a model number on the gas heater. I've attached 2 pics of the dials on the top - what do I press in what order to get it started etc.
I was going to say please hurry as it's cold but the sun has come out and is doing a good job of heating up the caravan for the moment!

RR, try Youtube they have videos that you can play & pause whilst you follow the instructions for the Truma 3002 space heater

Good Morning Rossie. I've got one like yours. Your left pic is the temp control and the right the fan speed; the slider below the fan dial is - centre off, left on and right auto. To ignite ensure gas is turned on to heater, turn the left dial to say 8, press the dial in for a few seconds, keep it pressed and press the igniter a number of times. Look through the small (very!) opening on the front of the fire to see if it is lit. Try a number of times. When lit keep the left dial pressed for 30 secs. If it does not stay lit it could be that the 'chimney' is blocked by cobwebs or something; if you have not used the fire this season this could be the problem. This spring mine would not stay lit, then there was a woosh sound as the blockage was expelled, it has been fine since. Can you run the heater on 240v?

And don't forget to switch the fan on to feed the heat to the vents around the caravan. I found the manual setting on my old Coachman better to use than the auto.

Yes I agree it needs to be on high setting before you start. Does it make an audible click? In mine there is a small battery back, visible at floor level to ignite the spark. Sorry terminology not great but you may need a new battery. You don't need to remove the casing to find the Batt pack. Good luck.

Rossie. As I mentioned when you posted about the tight bend near your house and getting on the A24. I live fairly close and have been caravanning for many many years. If you would like me to pop round some time to run over any problems or concerns you have with your caravan I would be happy to do so. On the Coachman Amara we had it was a cracking heating system. all we ever did was set it the 1000W position and set the fan on manual & 2., invariably we had to turn it off because it got nice and warm inside. Only ever tried it on Gas to test it.
The Whale system on our (new to us) Elddis seems up to the job but is a lot noisier but the vents are only in the middle of the van and bathroom. Not been cold enough yet to try it out properly but I am a little concerned about how loud the fan is at higher settings.
