Hi Guys

I have received my insurance renewal quote from CMC and, as usual, had to do a double take on the amount being asked so I decided that this year I would do some additional quote research.

I found that the quote from Towergate was £50 cheaper and with a lower excess than CMC.

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with Towergate before I make a decision?

Thanks

Used them for travel insurance 7 years ago. Had to make a claim, for hospitalised  food poisoning, paid up no problems.

We use Towergate Insurance for our static - not had to make a claim yet, fortunately, but our neighbours did for total replacement of a shower cubicle and were very impressed at the stress free way everything was dealt with! smile

Towergate has a good reputation I believe. I have £200 excess with CC and that suits me fine. No idea on the extent of cover for comparison. If over 50 test Saga as well

Had an end panel renewed with Towergate, after accident, no problem, professional throughout.

Next premium went up so moved to Staysure (part of Swinton) as the package of insurance and breakdown was best for us. No idea of their claims performance.

For anybody looking at this thread,

I have just had my caravan renewal due Feb 2019 and the amount of the cost to insure my caravan Swift Challenger 570 2012 has gone up by    66.375%

from £411.32 to £684.37 I know some of it is insurance tax but !!

Have to go and ask my employer for a raise of the same %..

Bottom of letter states " You have been with us for a number of years. You may be able to get the insurance cover you want for a better price if you shop around"

Are they trying to tell loyal customers they dont want them? Customer service charge online is far less than the £35-00 I've been quoted!

I am just starting my search for better price for the same cover, may be sometime!undecided

Towergate are brokers and place the business with an insurance company. Towergate are a reputable company, but I do not know who the insurers they use are for this business are. It is the insurer you need to check out rather than the broker, so do ask them before you decide.
