Camping Sainte Mere Eglise

We are off to France again next month and planning a few days in Normandy looking at D-Day museums etc. We're using Cherbourg for return ferry so thought we might try this site at Sainte Mere Eglise. Just wondered if anyone has stayed there and has any feedback? Not too bothered about facilities as we always use caravan but we like a bit of space and some peace and quiet. Would that work here?

We have not stayed there but we did go and have a look at it and couldn't see any obvious disadvantages. The fact  that you can walk into the town  and also the the Airborne Museum (recommended) I would say is an advantage.

Had a few weeks last September in the Cherbourg area and found loads of great places to stay but we are in a Camping Car so many places to spend a night or two mainly aires or French Passion so cannot help with the camp site sorry. Enjoy.

An alternative, about ten miles away,  is Camping du Vieux Chateau at St Sauveur Le Vicomte - another municipal site in an attractive situation.
