French TV

Hello hope you can help. When we are on holiday in France we are thinking of buying a Fransat box so that we can watch French TV. Do you know if  the standard aerial fitted to the caravan work with the Fransat box?  We have an HD ready television so that should be compatible.

    Fransat is a satellite based system so a 'normal' caravan aeriel wont work as this only receives DTV progams.....digital TV....

    however, if you really want to watch French TV, your tv should be able to be set to France and then just tune in as you would in the UK.

    Then again, perhaps you really want to watch Uk Tv in France?

    you can do this with a satellite dish and a Freesat box....an 85 cm dish will give you access to BBC/ITV etc over the whole of France....

    Based upon my considerable experience of French T.V. (lived and worked in Paris for 5 years, motorhomed France for 20+) I can't imagine why anyone would want to watch French T.V. It seems to be largely excruciatingly crass panel games, narcissistic 'matinee idol' presenters, and adverts for suppositories.
