The roadworks on the infamous stretch of the A30 across Bodmin Moor to the west of Launceston are coming finally to an end. The new dual carriageway there will be fully open by 14July 2017 - at long last.

Hallelujah! Why they didn't do the whole lot when they did Goss Moor is a mystery! Locals said it would cause tailbacks around Temple all those years ago. We used to take to the Moor roads if solo!laughing

Well that is good news indeed. Because of the times we travel, we've never been held up there, other than having to reduce our speed to 40, but on our way back last week there was a huge queue westbound in the afternoon. It has been interesting seeing the work going on and how things have progressed, but like a bad headache, it'll be a good thing to lose! smile

If you are solo, the sharp left turn off the A30 to Temple down the moorland road was a good rat run, we dodged a good bit of traffic at times doing that, coming out by the park up area with a little greasy spoon and a portaloo!

Hopefully, now it is duelled things will be a lot easier!
