Going Overseas - Check your EHIC Expiry date

I posted on another forum to check the expiry date of your EHIC Card, as it's something that's very easy to overlook, and already people have reported back that their card has expired.  Check yours today, and if it needs renewing make sure you do it through the official website: Official Dot Gov website for renewing EHIC Card

    Timely reminder ValDa - I messed up on this last emergency trip to France and found mine was out of date - mercifully I didn't need it. 

    So easy to do - just a few minutes online.

    ValDa thanks v much. Had not realised that these had an expiry date  - just checked and they ran out Sept 2010 and we have been carrying them around on every trip thinking we were covered !

    Should you need to go to see a Doctor when abroad remember to take your passport with you in addition to the EHIC card.  I was asked for it when I went to see a Doctor in Germany - I needed a prescription as I'd forgotten to bring an item from home.
