I have been trying to search for rallies on line in the membership section. I can't search by location and now find the date search isn't working either. frown My search dates keep sticking on 5/8/17 even though this is not a date I entered. Is this just me or is there a problem for other users too?

I've tried to search rallies but been so frustrated I gave up and we now have the incomplete booklet. Both most unsatisfactory.

I couldn't tell you what my searches were, what I was aiming at was having a look at all rallies on offer, this is the first time since being members, that holidays can be taken wherever, whenever and for a long as we fancied so I was looking for ideas.

When I discovered you could have a booklet, thanks to CT, I ordered it and then learnt that some rally groups hadn't been included.

Sadly I lost real interest and still haven't tried a rally.

The club really does need to make it simpler if they want to encourage rallying.

The rally search seems to maintain the high standards we have to come   to expect from the cmc IT.  I have had similar issues and I think that the date is significant, 8/5/17 is the 8 th May 2017, in American notation i.e. today.  I had the same problem when I searched for 4 April it kept defaulting to 4 of Jan which was the day, I was searching on.  Naturally I reported the issue.

To be fair to the cmc, they can only include the information supplied by the centre's and to be fair to the centre's they are run by unpaid volunteers.

Brue I have taken the liberty of reporting your post with the following comment

This issue needs to be passed to IT for action please. Maybe a comment about it being forwarded and proposed action could be added to the thread in due course please?

Tried again today, could only get 5/9/17 as a start date when advancing the months. The rally searches worked extremely well on the old system, not the fault of centres themselves. This is a really bad Club IT fault.

At present the only way to find rallies is via very lengthy searches using each centre's web site. I have a rally book for my own centre membership, (lapsing this month) I'm on a waiting list for a summer rally. Not likely to get a place. frown

No comment from the club yet?

Brue it appears not 😔. I've not had acknowledgement of the report, but that's not unusual. It's only lunchtime, maybe by close of play 😉?

Sounds as though it's been reported twice. Will look forward to a response.

To be honest.  You might be better off putting at post asking if anyone knows of rallies, in area x and during dates Y.

Thanks Boff, I'm going to trawl through a few centres in the south/southwest as it's getting late and I'll probably need a few spares. I've got a couple of possible places, usually I remember where some of the regular rallies are but it would be nice to discover others. I will ask on here if I come unstuck again, thanks for the help, much appreciated. (West Bay was one of them, if anyone knows the dates/centre?) smile

    Good afternoon brue,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

I have just searched for Center Rallies from May to September and found results.

     https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/whats-on/events/

From the link above, under " search whats on " select centre events & rallies by clicking onto this, it is next to Club Rallies,  then add search dates, example I used May to September, then to the right, select "centre events" then  select " Find Rallies".

I will keep an eye on this thread, to see if you have also found results.

     With kind regards.

    Kimberley.

Kimberley, if I click on Aug 1, I get 05/11/17 on the rallies search (right cursor) I can't start a search at the beginning of a month nor can I search by month, it takes me back to today's date (which is in reverse, so totally confusing.)

    thanks for responding.

Which as I said previously.  Is today's date in American format.  May be the search will be fine if you try it from the 13 May onwards (unfortunately this is a serious suggestion)

Every date I put in reverts to the reversed present date, today it's 5/11/17 tomorrow it will no doubt be 5/12/17.

Just in case it's only me would anyone else like to test it?

Other than that I give up!
