I too have a Liber-t tag but have not used it yet. However, some useful You-tube videos are available to watch others live experiences. I have watched several of these to be confident for my first time use:

I'm intrigued, did you purchase your Liber-t through the club? We thought about it, but having an Autotrail with overcab (same manufacturer as the Tribute) unfortunately we fall outside the Liber-t system (Sanef website - Vehicle with overall height from 2 to 3 metres and GVW* not exceeding 3.5 tonnes).

Our cab height is 3.10M, and having had the van re-plated it means we come under the Poids Lourds (heavy vehicle) system and cannot purchase a tag in the UK, so I would be interested in any tips you have.

We prefer to stay off the motorways but to our cost know how expensive that extra 10cm can be (27.40E for the Millau Viaduct).

Just sold my ssangyong Rexton and forgot to take the tag out... never thought about it. Then someone reminded me that it could be used and I would be billed. A quick email resolved it. Account now cancelled.

Relax, Jeff. There are probably videos of how to unlock a French supermarket trolley too, but you really don't need to watch them either. Just drive up to the barrier. It will open. Honest !

You can now get Tags for motorhomes which excede height and weight parameters >here<. Never used them myself. For what little I use the autoroutes I am prepared to get out of the cab and use a card.

Well ours didn't on one gate this trip. Despite several beeps coming from it. After some complaining on the tannoy the gate opened. So far to date we have not been charged for that, or anything else that day. Despite our account showing tolls for later in our holiday. I await to see if we ever get charged for that day,
