Has anyone stayed?

can you advise about the Service Station? I have read somewhere that there is a 3.5 Mtr height restriction - is this true?

How easy is it to find getting off the train?

How far is the Lidle? (Wine)

Thanks all 😎

wink Hi Artyboo. Yes there IS a height restriction on the approach to the fuel station at "City Europe".BUT ,,, if you're going to look for "Lidl" ,which is off the lower road out of Boulogne over the river bridge ,(Industrial estates,) over the level crossing &  on the left,,,there are plenty of lower priced fuel stations in that area",Le Clerk " etc etc .Hope this helps !! surprised.

The original Carrefour service station at the Cite de Europe was on the lower level and to my mind wasn't really suitable for motorhomes. However I did hear something about them building a new, more easily accessible one. If you are heading in the direction of Boulogne a service station with easy access is the Auchen one at St Martin just off the motorway. I usually fill up there on the way home.

Can confirm there is a new Carrefour fuel station there open 24 hrs but it has a 3.5m height restriction.  Google it and all will appear including coordinates!

Thank you all. I should have enough fuel to get out of Calais. I had been pondering the Cite Europe Aire but I think I will err on the side of caution (for my first time) to stay at Gandspette on night No1.

I still want to get to Lidle tho, they have some good wine at dirt cheap prices and more importantly my wasabi cashew nuts. 🤣

    Hi David,

Were going from Calais to Le Mans so I'm assuming the Auchan is on the A16?

We're looking for somewhere to fuel up with Diesel not far from Calais. This Auchan seems to be the place.

Just checked the price of the diesel at Auchan and its €1.18 which is about a pound a litre
