Municipal Les Romarins
Any one stayed at Municipal Les Romarins in Maussane-les-Alpilles please? Would appreciate some feedback. The new Touring France directs you to Mouries for the location and then unless i'm mistaken has no entry!

We used to stay at the Mouries site regularly, but there was a family inheritance problem so the site was sold for a million. We know Maussane village very well but can never decide which of of the cafe tables in the square to patronise - so try them each in turn.
We have walked the Maussanne site you mention - it's clean, tidy, calm, sedate, and respectable and in the ACSI off peak discount scheme- although a bit too formal for our tastes, so we have switched to staying in an orchard called Camping Le Pesquie, over the hill at Eygalieres, but that will not be everyone else's cup of tea by any means.
The whole area is lovely as you probably know.

Stayed there a couple of times some years ago. Remember it as a well-kept site. The village was pleasant with a variety of restaurants and bars. Really comes to life over 3 days in July and August with their 'fete'. The bull running is some sight as brave men try to arrest the passage of the bulls. Handy for trips out to Arles and St Remy.

We have stayed there on numerous occasions, the last time 2 years ago. A well run and sometimes quite busy site but quiet and on the edge of an excellent small town.
Ignore the fact that it says Mouries (its a Ryanair description.) Not sure which way you're intending getting there. If from St. Remy then its a straightforward run over the hill past the Roman ruins. Twisty road but no problems and you'll come across the site on tge north east edge of the town. If approaching from Arles way then its a run through Fontvielle and then suburbs of Maussane. Plenty of speed bumps but again manageable. Site at far end of town just as you're leaving it.
Mouries is further 5 miles away.
Good area for Les Beaux (can be walked from site), St.Remy and Arles. We've always enjoyed it there.
