Road conditions from Lourdes to Gavarnie
I will be spending several months in the Pyrenees. (May to August) and will be visiting Gavarnie.
I would like to know what the road conditions are like from Lourdes to Gavarnie. I will be towing an 8 Mtr. X 2.5 Mtr. caravan.
Any info would be welcome.

It's a long time since I was there - on a motor bike, but coach tours go there now, there's a regular bus service, and photos show motor homes in the village Aire and caravans in the camp site......so the road must be quite a bit better than it used to be.

Like EuroT, its a fair few years since we've been down that way but from memory there was no issues to be concerned about. We stayed at Luz St.Saveur and we came out by going over the Col de Tourmalet, so apart from the possibility of poor weatyer can't see any reason not to go. Only caveat would be to be careful with overhanging rocks but as said coaches and delivery lorries make it.

Hi
We did day trip last June in our 6 m motorhome from Estaing which is south of Lourdes up to Cirque de Gavarnie road not too bad. Usual rock overhangs but not difficult. Stayed at Pyrenees Natura in Estaing which I would highly recommend although previous year we were there we had caravan 7.4 m interesting tow in but ok if you follow specified directions. Stayed at Camping La Foret in Lourdes which was good site and easy walk in to Domain.
