Question for ValDa?? Camping Links

Hi ValDa,

I was looking at the Archies Camping site and thought I would take a look at what site guides were available, on the camping links europe, for Portugal but Archies does not seem to have  a link now and when I tried the http://users.telenet.be/leo.huybrechts/camp1.htm address it does not work.

I think I may have seen something about the site closing but thought you were the best person to ask!

If it is closed do you know of any other site with links to guides-it was rather a good one stop shop when I have used it in the past.

Thanks.

The LeoHuybrecht's site is 'closed'.  He was a close friend of 'Archie' and they worked together on some aspects of their own websites, but sadly Leo died some time ago.  Archie took over his 'Campsites near the main routes' section, to keep it up to date, and the information is still available on the Home Page of Archies, down in the bottom corners (left elecronic, right side spreadsheet versions which can be downloaded), but I'm not familiar at all with links to any campsite guides.  Sorry I can't  help.

I have emailed Archie to ask him if he knows about the link to campsite guides, and will pass on his reply.

Thanks ValDa and thanks for the reply,

I think the link was in the top left originally, and I have seen the 'snelweg' section, and it was split into countries and then linked to guides for that country. The reason for looking was to give  info to a poster on CT mainly but like many things in life even if it is not something we use regularly we are sad when it is gone!

As I thought, a lot of Leo's website is not functioning now, and pages have been Deleted User - including the links page, which has not been updated since 2014.  However, you can still access some information about campsites in all the different countries, here:

    http://users.telenet.be/leo.huybrechts/gpseurope.htm

Obviously you'll need to check details with each site as things may have changed since the last update.

    Hi ValDa, thanks for that.

Strangely when I did the OP it was after looking at home on my PC. Away at the moment and when I click on the saved link on my iPad it works! The sites that it links to, I was looking at site guides for Portugal, all work and as they are just links you are not looking at outdated info.

    It takes me to ;http://users.telenet.be/leo.huybrechts/camp1.htm
