Well - it is different. Still needs the odd tweak or two.

Like getting rid of that overlay that says 'we use cookies etc.' If absolutely necessary, it can be a single line of text on the home page.

Also why do I have to sign in to 'follow' a post?

If only the club had paid for professional web design from the outset, giving the clear instruction that it was to be user friendly!

    If only!

I totally agree this new site needs dumping, for all it's faults the old site out shines this one

Quote "sorry I meant to say East Grinstead and I pay the same as you TW".

Exactly, we don't pay any extra for the forum, Crusader.

I can't see the point in going over old ground and moaning in general about the site when the points are gradually being addressed. It's all been said.

The other thread isn't really the place for this type of general discussion as it's intended for constructive comments and facts. Why not add your specific points there?

I did say 'gradually' but changes are occurring.

As an ex Systems & Programming It consultant, this forum appears to have been developed without any consideration given to the users.

If any of my team had designed this, they wouldn't have been working for me for very long!

It's so in-user friendly, I can hardly be bothered to log in these days, and when I do, I'm probably online for about 3 minutes.

You mean the faux pas that appeared in the Ask the Expert section that wasn't there in the first place has been fixed? innocent

It seems the forum is taking two steps forward and one step backwardsundecided

Looks more like one forward and two backwards from where I'm standing.

Give it another six months and we might dragged this site up to the usability of the old site.

Before retiring I was employed by a large company at Heathrow, one of my responsibilities was the IT system, although not a software or hardware professional it was hoisted on my shoulders.

But before we ever went live with a large fix we run the fix in tandem and get four or five of the staff to use it and advise on any problems.

I wonder if the club ever thought about inviting  a few knowledgeable forum members to Head Office and let them peruse the new web site before going live,  so as to be able to iron out any problems with the site. Possibly give them lunch and show them around. Or am I dreaming

At least the Reply button only reacts once now. Maybe we've seen the end of multiple duplication of posts.

Since the website was changed I find I go on it very little now, maybe once a week at the very most, whereas I used to go on to the CC website sometimes twice a day if there was a thread I was following. I always embrace change but have to admit that on a personal basis the new Club Together is not ticking the boxes for me. 😢
