The "bible" for small campsites in Holland is Vekabo.com. Thankfully it switches to English if you click the Unoon Jack.

But that's not where the tulip fields are. They stretch northwards from The Hague up past Leiden and Haarlem, in a strip behind the coastal dunes.

If you are looking at Arnhem then I can recommend a small site about 8 miles from Arnhem called Camping de Boschof in Herwen. Excellent site set in a cherry orchard. Great cycling and near the Rhine. Site is on a farm but that doesn't intrude and the owners have horses that they use for Dressage. Nice people. About 20 units max, there were about 8 in June when we stayed.

My recommendation is a lovely farm site near Noorden not far from Alphen an der Rhine. Kampeerhoeve Koole (www.kampeerhoevekoole.nl). This a working farm owned by the very friendly Koole family who speak perfect English. There are basic spotless facilities, mains electrics etc. The site is very open with far reaching views. It's a series of fields surrounded by water channels. It's very quiet apart from some aircraft noise from Schipol airport, but it's not intrusive at all. The location is by the Dutch Lake District and you can rent a boat for the day at nearby very pretty Noorden which also a good supermarket. It's within easy reach of Amsterdam, Delft, Leiden (recommended), Rotterdam etc. It really is a great location. I can highly recommend it, we have been there four times, the last time in May last year.
