Feeling for you Kerry - it's bad enough losing them at a good age - but so young is really sad.

Sorry to hear the news. Keep the memories of the good times you've had with the pet alive,--- they will be a comfort in the months to come.

Awful news, Kerry. We've been there too and know just how horrible the emptiness in the house can be.

You did your best for her, big hug from me.

I feel so sad for you and can't imagine how you must be feeling.  I know how empty the house is when Meg is away just for three hours at the groomers, so goodness knows how you must be feeling at the moment.  Just keep thinking about all the happy times you shared together and all the love you gave each other.

Thank you so so much. Scooby was my first dog and we both thought that we would all grow old together, never thought she would have lymphoma when she was two and a half. I just don't have the words to describe how we fell.

Such kind words Rocky. I did not imagine people could be so kind on her, it is very comforting. Scooby was my first dog and we have no children and we loved her like the daughter we could never have. Never thought you could love a dog till we had her. Our lives have have just been torn apart. Sorry for the ramblings.

Thank you so much. I know we did the best for her but it just wasn't enough. We were always told when we were young that if you have your health and happiness you have everything. Over the years it has become more and more true.

So sorry to read this Kerry. We've never lost a dog at such a young age so I can't begin to imagine what you're feelng, but I do know how heart wrenching it is to lose a beloved companion and what a space they leave in your life when they go. You will always happy memories of your time together though.

    Will be thinking of you.

Kerry, right now the loss is raw, it is a deep grief that doesn't feel it can ever be calmed. It will. In time the thoughts of Scooby will only get stronger but without the pain. You have enjoyed the 2 way love of a Dog, the loyalty that is given without question. Don't feel odd about it, don't listen to the-'it's only a Dog' words from the idiots, it was never 'only a Dog' Scooby was family. Post as much as you like, it isn't you rambling, it's you sharing with folk that not only feel for you but folk that have been in your shoes.

We all deal with these things differently, Kerry. I couldn't talk about it at the time but 6-7 months on, I can. It's as Rocky says, the memories and thoughts are strong but the pain eases. You'll get through it and will cherish the good memories you have.

Oh you are so so kind. We are both suffering dreadfully. It is really comforting to know that people understand what we are going through. I just don't have the words to describe how painful for us it is. Just can't stop crying and thinking of her. Perhaps if she had a full life we could have expected it, but the pain would be the same.

We are both so so upset. She gave us unconditional love and asked for nothing other than to be with us and play with her ball. She brought happiness and a purpose to both of us. We miss her so much xx
