Ate at The Hollow Bottom in Guiting Power (Cotswold) today. Not a great choice of GF food for me but they found somethinb that hasn't killed me yet! To be fair it was good and my 2 lady companions enjoyed their meals.

Also eaten at The Pheasant in Toddington. Dedicated GF menu. Big portions if you like that sort of thing. Always feel guilty leaving decent food on a plate but this wzs too much for me. Food quality was good.

A thumbs up for The Falcon at Warmington near Banbury.

(We aren't doing a great deal of cooking this week!)

Interesting to hear you enjoyed eating at the Falcon Wherenext, not visited recently,  but friends have given it very mixed reviews.  The Herb Centre at Warmington has a nice bistro.smile Where are you staying in the Cotswolds?

Hi Helen. We've hired a cottage in Bledington as a pick me up for MiL and to reward her for her hard work in trying to get fit following a knee replacement after Easter. Last day tomorrow but she's enjoyed it.

We stopped en route last Friday at The Falcon as we knew the menu as our local eating place belongs to the same owners so I wanted something safe. MiL always has the seafood linguine and usually leaves the squid but this time ate it all pronouncing it a seminal moment no less! We would stop there again.

I don't often geta decent Pizza these days, even though GF bases are available at the normal Pizza establishments but we were in Bourton-on-the-Water the other day and ate at L'antara Italian and it was the best pizza I've had since asking for Gluten Free. We asked them to cook it for longer and roll the dough out a bit thinner and they complied so top marks from me.

Just a heads up to the other 3 or 4 members who read this threadwink. A couple of cafes/coffee stops worth a mention in dispatches, namely

    The Coffee House in Stow

    Tissanes in Broadway

The Coffee House make a great coffee and is excellent for allergy sufferers, including lactose, with great cakes

Tissanes has GF cakes and a decent tearoom.

Be much easier if this website had a proper edit facilityyell

Reading through this thread has reminded me of a couple of restaurants which serve GF meals.

Last week we were staying in Port William on the excellent Kings Green Caravan Park. It's within walking distance of Port William where The Clansman serves lovely meals.  Didn't try the GF ourselves but SiL, niece and nephew are all coeliacs so it's something we notice.

A few months ago we were down Ipswich way staying with friends that time, and went to The Brook Inn.

It's community-owned now and again, very good food, it is accredited by Coeliac UK, and has excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.

Called in en spec at the Norfolk Riddle, a restaurant situated behind Nelsons Fish and Chip shop in Little Walsingham yesterday. We were drenched after a torrential downpour but fortunately they had a log fire burning and we dried out as we waited for our meal. They don't just serve Fish and Chips but it was that sort of day and we were not disappointed. All of the chips cooked are Gluten Free and they accommodated my fish order by cooking it in the oven, without batter. Really enjoyed it.

There were various diners still having lunch and a lot of them had the none F & C menu with excellent desserts, or so it would seem.

Whilst in the area we have revisited Thaxters Cafe situated in Dersingham, just up the road from Sandringham site if anyone is interested. They serve a mighty fine coffee with free refills. The cakes, scones and breakfast all seem to be meeting approval. Found next to Thaxters Garden centre on the road through Dersingham to Snettisham.

A shout out for the following, sampled on our recent travels:-

The Coach and Horses pub, Harrogate. - They had 8 guest beers on the day we visited, a change every day menu and a nice intimate feel. Might not be everyone's cup of tea as they don't allow dogs or children

The Woolly Sheep pub, Skipton - Popped in for a pint of Timothy Taylors and the food looked very good but we'd already eaten. It was full of happy, friendly locals and the front part had a roaring fire going with the rear half overflowing with diners.

Loch Fyne Restaurant, York - They had a 2 course set lunch course on offer for less than £11 per person and I was able to have a huge Moules Mariniere with Frites and Creme Brûlée. Good allergy advice available. They have numerous places around prosperous towns and cities.

Last year when visiting the South West and in particular, Bath, we ventured out to Chew Valley Lake and Salt and Malt, the Fish and Chip restaurant (takeaway available) that cooks their Fish and Chips as Gluten Free (really, you can't taste the difference).

Well whilst staying at Baltic Wharf, we called in at their small new container pod on Wapping Wharf, just on the way into town from the site. It's not big but the food is just as good. I think it's a franchised outlet but the staff were very friendly and service and advice excellent. Went back today for non Fish and Chips, having a Bouillabaisse and a Fish and Mussel curry. They didn't mind at all that I took my own GF bread and even served some chips with my meal as I'd foregone their bread. Would revisit if in area but as I said before it is a small area so might be best to call in after rush hour has finished.

Is that Box E, in the shipping containers? I like the way that area has been developed, packed out in the summer last year. Lots of different eateries.

It's not Box E Brue but in the same complex. It's actually the first downstairs box you come to as you walk in from the site. Not very big but cosy and the staff were very accommodating.

If we'd stayed longer we probably would have tried a few others. I like the way small businesses can set up without having to splash out big on overheads. Great idea.

The Lemon Tree at the Willow and Wetlands Centre, Stoke St Gregory between Taunton and Glastonbury in Somerset offers nice lunches and snacks with gluten free options. There is a basket shop, small farm shop, museum and marked walks around the river Tone and withy beds. Not far from Athelney where King Alfred the Great burnt the cakes and RSPB sites. smile

If your in the Cromer area and want good Food and a fun night out try the The Constantia at East Runton.  After a lovely Greek meal the Constantia Brothers appear and entertain with their traditional Greek music. (might be weekends only)

    The Royal Oak in Ripon.

Excellent pub offering good home made cooking. Come with an appetite as the portions are generous. Book for Sunday roasts. Caters for allergies with a GF menu. It's dog friendly and, best of all, it's a Timothy Taylor owned pub, so great beer.

    It's in the town centre.

    No.10 Tea Gardens in Avoncliffe

Next to the Aquaduct taking the Kennet & Avon canal over the River Avon. Small seating area inside but a few tables outside.

Excellent tea and coffee and delicious cakes made by proprietor. Recommended. Easy One and a half mile walk from Bradford-on-Avon marina wharf.

Thanks for info brue - Enjoyed our time here with Cream Teas in the courtyard after a walk & watching their very informative video about this family run willow growing basket/making business. Because of timing we watched the video but there are 2 guided tours per day.  They also produce artists charcoal here from the willow.  A very friendly atmosphere.

The Clachan Inn at Drymen (apparently Scotland's oldest licensed pub) for anyone staying in the Loch Lomond area. We ate there whilst staying at Gartfairn CL and thoroughly recommend it for amazing food, great service and lovely ambience.Recommend booking as it was packed on a Monday evening!

Just a couple of recommendations from us from our recent trip to the New Forest.

The Fishermans Haunt (near Ringwood) we went hear on a Sunday afternoon and ended up getting the Sunday roast dinner which was excellent. It was £14 each and you got a good sized portion the surroundings were very nice and they had a lovely beer garden too. Staff were also very helpful and polite well worth a visit for anyone in the area.

The Rising Sun (New Milton) More of a traditional family pub but still excellent. Very good value for money and the beer wasn't too expensive either also they have a play park out the back next to the beer garden so ideal for those with children, dogs are also welcome.

Both of these sites are within a short drive of the clubs New Forest Centenary site.

Was pleased to see a reference to the Healthy Prep Kitchen in Morpeth, in this month's magazine.

Have been there and can heartily recommend it's Vegan dishes - even though I though I am not a veggie..

Had some smashing Fish and Chips at Erics, situated between Thornham and Holme-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk.

Excellent GF and normal fare. They have a sit down cafe and a takeaway, open long hours. Also have a premises in Holt and one in St.Ives, Cambs.

Highly recommended, if a bit expensive.

Anyone in the Horwich or Bolton area could do worse than eat at Cafe Italia Bolton, Moss Bank Way.

It's open most of the day and would make a good coffee and Cannolo stop or a full meal. Their Pasta and Pizza dishes can be GF if required. Really friendly service.

Last Saturday we went out with family (BiL, SiL, niece and her OH).  BiL, SiL and niece are coeliac, and SiL also dairy free.  We went to the HIGH MOOR in Wrightington, near Wigan.  They have a separate GF menu and  the staff were very helpful with dairy free suggestions.  We all enjoyed it very much.

Had a smashing meal at The Angel in Holmesfield not far from NTs Longshaw Estate.

Virtually all of the food is Gluten Free but don't think the quality is reduced because it isn't. Haven't enjoyed a pub lunch like this in ages. They do Light lunches for those with smaller appetites plus they also try to make as many dishes as they can Dairy Free.

Reasonably priced when one considers how much GF and DF products cost.

We'll certainly call again when in the area (or even if having to drive out of our way!)

If anyone is near Abbots Bromley/ Burton on Trent area, it's worth a visit to High Ash Country Store for a hot drink and cake.  The on-site cafe is called Cobwebs and they serve the most wonderful home.ade cake.  We haven't been out there for a while now, but it is well worth a visit......  this thread has made me think a visit to Cobwebs is long overdue.  P..S there is also a gin supplier, butcher, and other small outlets on site.  Great for an afternoon's ride out....
