Our European Tour - Summer 2016
I thought i'd celebrate the new video function and post the video my husband made of our summer trip to the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Enjoy!

Excellent. A good watch for anyone thinking of going to Germany for the first time.
I assume it resizes the video to fit the posting pane, unlike photographs?

Yes, David, it resized automatically. All I had to do was enter the link. Glad you enjoyed it!

I think we were away for 35 nights, Martatin. We planned and booked ahead as it was our first trip to Europe and had a lot we wanted to see. We generally stayed 3 nights at each stop and didn't travel more than 4 hours at a time, which gave us an evening and two full days to explore where we were staying. We made sure that we were in walking distance or close to public transport so we could get the most of an area.

Wandering Hans - brill video. We are off on a similar route. What sites did you stay at in Rothenburg, Innsbruck, Fussen, Meersberg, Konstance, Trier, Cochem and would you recommend them?

Glad you liked it, Beverley. Sites we stayed at are as follows:
Rothenburg - P2 stellplatz. Around €10 a night. Great location, just outside the city walls. Very busy though, definitely get there before 4pm to guarantee a spot. We were there in late June.
Innsbruck - Natterer See campsite, through the CC. Very expensive ( I think we were €40 a night!) but brilliant facilities and a free bus into Innsbruck.
Fussen - Wohnmobileplatz Fussen. About €17 a night. Walkable into Fussen where you can get a bus to the castles, or you can apparently cycle direct. Again, very busy so get there early or you can even book in advance via email.
Meersburg - a Stellplatz in the west of the town (sorry i can't be more specific!). About €12 a night. Downhill walk into Meersburg where you can catch a ferry to Konstanz (top tip, don't get off the ferry, Konstanz was a bit dirty and smelly!). Meersburg was much nicer, especially having a drink on the lakeside.
Konstanz - see above!
Trier - I can't remember the name (sorry!) but it was right on the riverside. Camping Treveris maybe? €32 a night, more for showers and there was only 6A electricity. Great location though.
Cochem - camping Moselbad - although the name above the gate says something different and we drove around for ages looking for another site. Great location, a short walk along the river to Cochem but expensive (I think about €30 a night?). Our pitch was right on the riverside but very very noisy with trains across the river and barges. Pitches are tiny too and very crammed. If we were to return, we'd pitch up at the stellplatz near the entrance for €12 a night instead!
Hope that helps!

Thank you Gazmog and Oneputt for your kind words. My husband is a semi-professional 😂 photographer so it's good to see he can do a semi-decent job 😂😂😂
EJB986 thanks for those links, we stayed at Allmend 1👍

I've asked him, Oneputt, but don't hold your breath! 😜 He's not really a forum type of person.

Crissy and Paul, I'm glad you enjoyed the film. Paul, I've added details of some of the campsites we used on page 1, feel free to ask questions about anything else 😀
