We are safely back home after our trip to Belfast. This morning was free time so we walked off the "Great Irish Breakfast experience" with a walk along the Lagan waterfront and back via Ormeau Park which is a real oasis of peace in the centre of the city. We just had time to visit the Victoria Square shopping centre (not for shopping though!) where old meets new with this Victorian fountain fronting the new building where a climb up to the dome gives a 360° view of the city. It's been a great few days and hope to return in the not too distant future. smile

More grand photos. Very pleased to read that you managed to do your ride without the use of the 'leccy power tda. Interesting readind about the rail disaster. Love the auto, WN, shame that you are hsving problems with your car and camera. Good to read that you got out to Hidcote even if it was busy, Debs. Shame that most are having the chill NE wind, and it is the same here but has been  sunny all day today, great for getting the washing  dried  again.

We went for a walk from the NT carpark up onto Clent Hills today. The views were decent but not perfect because of a haze. Our last day here before  heading further north. The photo is of The Four Stones (obviously) at the highest point on the range.

Glad you have enjoyed your Midlands stay, the Clent Hills are an antidote for city life in Brum!

We had the air ambulance arriving in a field by us yesterday evening I'm hoping the person concerned is OK. We didn't recognise it at first as a "spare" helicopter was in use in a different colour. We have a lot of helicopters overhead in our part of the world.

Another bright warm day but we really need some rain!

Oh, stop it brue!  We haven't seen the sun here for over two weeks and it was bitterly cold on the beach this morning.  Still, I suppose it keeps some of the grockles awaysmile

M, sounds a great trip, I am I right in assuming you flew? And no passport required?

Our weather has improved drastically since yesterday afternoon. Lost the thick cloud and bitter cold East wind……..sunny and very warm now. No rain here that I can recall in last four weeks, everything very dry, we might get a full on storm and then “scorchio” onwards.

I am off for an afternoon tea later. Going to take two neighbours around Wentworth, they are fairly new to area, and haven’t discovered a great deal of what’s on the doorstep yet. Top off the Jeep, dresses and a bit of lippy on, OH sorted with something for his dinner, proper girl’s afternoon out😁 And no dogs allowed🤣 We have five between the three of us.

Yes, that's right. We took our passports but any photo ID would be ok, such as a driving licence or bus pass! We only checked in one suitcase so Mrs M never had to show her ID at all. smile

Sounds like folk have been busy.

Started the day by knocking OH's mug of coffee over the table and the tablecloth plus the floor  so a halt to breakfast to clear up and clean plus another mug as other broke that is the trouble with tiled floors, have been making a skirt from a strappy cotton dress very easy to do but had a couple of glitches now sorted and a elastic waistband done and looking in our local Leclerc the other day seems what I have done today is very popular for this years fashion even same material only different colours gosh did not think I was a fashion person ha ha.

Had a warm sunny start but then a lot of cloud arrived and a heavy rain storm this afternoon 10.4mm of rain so far and much cooler now still not looking settled here for a few more days yet but is very warm when sun is out.

    Have a good weekend folks.

The chap at the Kia garage we went to for a bit of help tried to explain the malfunction as down to the car recognising the spare key that OH always carries with her. But this is always in a faraday pouch, been using them for a few years now. His explanation was rubbish as car wouldn't recognise either fob to let us into it yesterday and eventually relented after about the 6th. effort. Had a hiccup with it this morning but it seems to be fine once its started that day. It's just getting it recognised the first time. That's the problem with no backup. At least when you had a key there was a backup. Hope you get some practice in.

Wanted to do a coastal walk but high winds on the coast so we headed inland to Llangefni and went for a stroll through a local nature reserve.

We came across a group of people with filming gear and sound booms. Apparently, according to the cafe owner, it's filming for Springwatch and they were after trying to film Red Squirrels. Lovely walk in and out of sunshine.

Did some food shopping and home for a shower and some peace as no-one else around.

Hope everyone now getting some sunshine.

Yes we had some, temperature got up to 14C but felt like 11C due to the pesky Easterly wind.  Still it was sheltered in the garden so managed a few chores with the sun on my back

So sorry to hear about your malfunctions WN. Modern technology is great when it works but when it doesn't 😡. Hope it has sorted itself out now. I wondered whether you would come accross any of the Springwatch team while you were in that area.

nellie your trip sounds wonderful. Great photos this week.

We took the bus into Sheringham yesterday and then got the steam train (The Poppy Line) to Holt. OH used to be a volunteer at Nene Valley and loved having a discussion with the volunteers there.

Millie - I missed your question about the Carrick-a-reade rope bridge. We were on too tight a schedule to venture over it, much though I'd have loved to give it a go! wink

We really enjoyed our trip and, yes, next time you go over you must ask your son to give you the "city tour" - it's a great place.  smile

At home our vehicle keys are kept in a small metal key cabinet, like the ones you see in offices. As you mentioned I am still getting to grips with the new technology, although currently away using the old tech of the motorhome! One strange thing about the new car is that whilst you lock the car, if you have the key in your pocket you can still unlock the boot. This handy for loading the shopping at Waitrose without struggling with finding the key but also a bit disconcerting! At one point I seemed to have completely removed all the icons that show how to work things like the radio, sat nav! Then I discovered a button to press to get it all back, a steep learning curve! And people complain about the complexities of using a Smartphone!

So pleased that your trip to NI was such a success moulesy. I have told our son in NI and he has told me to make a list of things in Belfast that we would like him to show us.

Your trip to Hidcote sounds wonderful DEBSC even though it was busy. We love it there. I hope the weather has warmed up a bit for you now. It is certainly better here on the east coast today after a dull start. It has been a lovely sunny afternoon but still a nagging very chilly wind.

We went to East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden today. It is absolutely beautiful there and because it was sheltered felt quite warm. We also had a lovely little robin join us for lunch.

You too seem to be having a good trip, milie, live the photos, especially the one of the Robin, and we must give that garden a visit next time we get down that way.

WN, we enjoyed the walk a Llangefni NR, when we were there last year. Pleased to read that you had a good day out.

Looks like you have recovered from your bike ride, tda, and hope you and your friends enjoyed the day at Wentworth. We must go there again sometime, as you know we didn't see half of it on our last visit.

Moulesy, it was great to see all your photos of Belfast, a  place we have never visited. You certainly managed to fit a lot into your stay " over there"!😊

We had an uneventful drive up from Clent to hear Knutsford, thankfully, but there were long lines of traffic on the southbound M6 for many a mile. It could not have been pleasant driving South around lunchtime today there. It has been sunny all day but thankfully there has been the breeze to keep the temperature down so most pleasant.

Indeed Nellie, we hardly got started on your last visit🤣 Tea was lovely, we finished the afternoon with a walk around the village and two churches. Then I took them down the drive to see the big house!

Some lovely photos of others enjoying themselves. We have two NT visits planned for next week, all being well. Biddulph Grange, and then Lyme Park, weather looks set to be fair.

Sorry hear about your car woes WN, hope things get sorted for you. I wonder about these high tech car systems at times, I prefer a good old fashioned stick a key in it and a hefty pull on brake stick myself. Mini doesn’t have a key as such, just a key inside a fob that you stick in in a slot and then press a button. MG is best, tiny little key and a selection of graded pegs for choke and woe betide if you let choke in too early🤣

down in not so sunny Devon today, but cant complain body needs a rest from the sun, what Devon does have are some fantastic beaches, and of course the Moor, splendid views across to the Moor from the pitch, also spotted what I think are orchids in quite a few places around the site, sun should be back by 1400 hrs but sea yesterday was quite rough and only 13 degs so life guard did not think venturing in was a good idea undecided

You sound a little bit like someone discovering their country Rufs😁 Devon’s beaches and Dartmoor have always been fantastic, and glad that you are enjoying them. Dartmoor is very special, in our top three UK places to visit. If you fancy a change from some beach swimming, take a look at Spitchwick Common on the Moor, you can swim in some of the River Dart pools there. There are other wild swimming spots as well. Not all accessible with a MH, but easy with a car. Prison Museum is very interesting, well worth a visit👍 Most envious of where you are😁

re discovering, have always been a Devon/Dorset/Cornwall fan but when our daughter moved to Spain from Kuwait to take up a teaching post we were lured to the delights and the weather of Spain, but this old body is starting to creek a little and the thought of lugging a 7.3m tin box thousands of miles is starting to feel some what daunting undecided

Haven't been on for a few days as data allowance getting low but now on a site with free WiFi and it's good.

Small site just 27 touring pitches and about the same number of mobile homes. Small nice and warm swimming pool. Site is reasonably quiet, lots of French on site and in the mobile homes this weekend. Tonight the restaurant and bar is open and I believe  we have a young lady singing for a short time. The owners are always about round the site and make a point of saying hello if they see you. Facilities are good, there is a small play area for children and of course a boules area.

We had a couple of thunderstorms the night before last and heavy rain. Yesterday was warm with hazy sun. Today we have blue skies and full sun again but the air is fresher so the storm did it's job.

Moving on again tomorrow around St Malo area for a few days then will work our way up to northern France for next weekend then ferry home from Rotterdam Sunday evening.

We've been out exploring this area and found some lovely coastal villages with lovely beaches.

Sites much busier this year than the last 2 years, even more French out and about, haven't come across many Dutch which is unusual, maybe they are in another area. We currently have a couple from Sweden next to us, a few Brits on site but no Germans. Strange how sites and areas see different nationalities.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

was on Batham beach for the Burgh island shot, had forgotten just how beautiful it is but must be a nightmare to get to during July/August, access road so very narrow, and hyou can only pay by card for the car park, the guy had the machine attached to a large pole which he pokes through the window for you to pay sealed
