I must admit that the actual practice is excellent and we don't have a problem with them Brue. They were really super in opening up early in Covid and made no charge for the extra equipment they had to purchase. We're on our third dentist now.
Main problem is the fact they are in Chester and it's all a bit of a pain (in more ways than the obvious one) logistically. Parking is expensive and so is P&R. Mrs WN walked a mile in the other week rather than drive in. So we are seriously thinking of changing and will canvas local opinion. Shame really but might need to be done.

We've been with our dentist for 34 years, since he qualified 😱. He went Denplan years ago, we stayed as he's great, children seen NHS until they'd graduated.
We pay 70 ish for 3 of us, at the moment, not had the notice of next January rates,don't think I've told them we've moved 😉. I'll add that to my latest list! We get 2 check up and 2 cleans a year and only pay lab fees, which are high now, for crowns etc.
We were back in Essex last week stressful journey as shorter days and heavy traffic. Our parking permit has expired so had to pay to park, by machine which didn't take cash or want to cooperate with any users 🤬. It has spaces you'd be happy to park an original mini in, not only were spaces tight single lane and layout made turning circle tight even with power steering.
Keep asking folk about dentists here, popped in Denplan one, apparently they need report from dentist you leaving then check you out themselves. Also told each practice sets it's own fees....
Made our 3 monthly appointments back in Essex and more contemplation required....... our dentist has said he's happy to keep us and just call if we have a problem, we have his personal mobile, he's quite a workaholic.
We were back with good arrangements as soon as possible after lockdown. No rinsing at first, but now everything normal, entry and exit from same door, rinsing etc. Only the screens on the front desk remain.
Freezing fog here again all day. Trees and shrubs look really pretty.

A spur of the moment decision but we drove across to Grasmere after work and booked in for two nights at the Travellers Rest. Just back from a lovely meal at the Wordsworth's hotel. Very cold outside but lovely and warm inside.

Another trip to Oxford today, appointments have now moved to lunchtimes so travelling has been much better. I'm now half way through treatments, feeling a bit sore now but have been given a cool compress and some gel to use. The staff have all been lovely which really helps.
Re dentist's I am lucky to have a great NHS dentist in town, I am certainly not the best patient to treat either.😳🤣

With regard to dentists and not being best patient totally with you. It's a relationship of complete trust and definitely one that makes me grit me teeth, pun intended, and drive the distance.
Did a lot of machining a couple of days, on silky ribbon and net. On the 3rd of 4 sides it jammed, and the bobbin had been slipping and looping. So placed it gently in the corner 🤐😡🤬. Had several attempts at unpicking, absolute pain. Have sat for 3 hours this evening making very slow progress, but progress, I need it unpicked then to sort machine properly and be ready for a Christmas gift..... Biggest issue is its white on white and can't seem to get the lighting and my focus right. Bit of light relief at the moment.
Just learned my contribution to Christmas Dinner at DIL's mum's. Easiest/largest place to accommodate guests and 4 dogs - phew feared i might be expected to host 😱. Was to have been prepare veg according to son - naturally he got that wrong 😉. I've to do starter and provide non alcohol drinks, latter is easy as I don't drink. I've even been told what the starter is so just need to add it to next weeks delivery 😃. I've already got fancy after dinner chocolates from craft fair, won't claim I made them 😉 in case I get volunteered in future! Just mince pies to make and an ordinary fruit cake mainly for our own consumption, but I'll offer to share - if I get them sorted. And breathe..... All a bit last minute for me 😱🤣🤣

We have been with the same dentist her in MK (more accurately Newport Pagnell!) for as long as we have lived in MK which is 44 years next year! It's been private for donkey years. They did try and get us to go onto Denplan but at the time we belonged to the HSA which for a modest monthly fee (discounted because it was a work organised thing) and they would pay a percentage of any treatment upto certain limit. There were also savings when the boys were born, when we needed new glasses or hospital stays. Some years ago they were taken over by another health group and monthly fees started to go up and we realised that we were paying more in than we got out. We decided to call it a day but put the equivalent into a savings account each month. We also made the decision some time ago only to have a regular annual appointment other than any emergency work which is done on an ad hoc basis. Margaret will soon need some major work done but that wouldn't have been covered by either plan so we will have to bite the bullet, forgive the pun!

I emailed them yesterday requesting a paper copy of the new SD, and got a standard reply to the effect that they will be back in touch properly within 7 days. I live in hope!

We are with Denplan at our dental practice,where we both have been going for at least 30 yrs, although the dentist has changed, and pay just over £60 pm. For that we get twice yearly dental inspection and quarterly visits to the hygienist. All necessary treatment is free but of course have to pay for caps etc. We have always been able to get an appointment that suits us whenever we have had to have additional treatment, and dates to suit for inspections etc to suit our times at home. There are screens at reception but they now use rinse again when working on our teeth. OH has had to use the Denplan service a couple of times when we have been away, without any problems, so can't complain about the cost.

We used to have a dental plan but stopped it as we're very rarely used it. We just pay as we go now but have been with the same dental practice for 42 years. All the original dentist have retired.... somehow, I don't seem to have the same confidence in the new folk...

Clear Blue Sky out there even a good waning half moon BUT walls, fences roofs etc all frosty white, bird bath solid and bird feeders getting that way too.I have to give them a good shake when I pass which, in this weather, ain't that often I must admit
.Hope that all our "Patients" { dental, medical, veterinary, motor vehical et al } are getting good treatment & feeling much better even if not yet on top of the world ~~ well its even colder up them big hills !!

This week is the first outing in really cold weather in our 15yrs young Auto Sleeper PVC and have realised just how advanced modern LVs are in respect of insulation for being used in these conditions
Just as an after thought I changed the duvets over for some very old large sleeping bags that we have not used for years ,as they are made of Marino sheep wool and we found them too hot, but not now we have been really warm using them and just turn the fan heater to high about 15mins before ventureing from underneath the sleeping bags
This morning forgot heater was on high when I put kettle on but have found the trips held up
Ps had a phone call this morning from hospital clinic saying they had a cancellation for thi Friday can OH attend ,as if the answer would be no
Pps tree surgeons clearing area near gas tanks on FM in preparation of d.new drive over MC service point to be installed in Jan 2023 was going to be installed before but covid got in the way and planning permission had run out

We know what you mean about new Dentists David. We are lucky enough to still have an NHS practice, who knows for how long, but the Dentist is a woman (early 30’s) who has no ‘bedside manner’ whatsoever! If we’re lucky we may get a Good morning, any problems? Otherwise she gets on with what she has to do, turns to her screen to fill in notes and the dental nurse says see you in 6 months, goodbye. We have had her for 12 years now, ever since she graduated we suppose, and we can’t complain about treatment but a quick chat would be nice sometimes. I suppose we should be grateful for what we have perhaps?

Red cabbage in the slow cooker bubbling away, will freeze it ready for Christmas Day when cooked. Added a glass of port, decadent, well it is Christmas.
We are both feeling just a little under the weather today, think OH is starting a cold. Mine could be the same or just tiredness as a few very bad sleepless nights. I probably just need a good walk but just too cold today I can’t face it. Remember those lovely very hot days of summer, oh I wish we still had them.

A nice warm day if you happen to be the sun, otherwise it's very chilly.
Had a morning out with OH as I was physio free. Went into a toy shop for the first time in donkeys years. Looking for some dexterous toys to help with rehab, like Connect 4. All toys a bit on the tiny side.
Mrs WNs car had a fault light come on. She has a 9 o'clock appointment tomorrow at local garage to investigate. I'm going to have to get up to get her up!
Had a webchat with BT this afternoon. Engineer calling Friday p.m. Never rains etc....

It is nice and warm in our PVC with the heater on high,thought we had tripped the bollard earlier the realised the manageress had not tripped it back in after testing
Glad I have a complete set of keys curtesy of some site staff years ago

We were getting a bit stir crazy from being indoors for the last few days. Decided to go to the Morrisons in CMK only because they have an understore car park so out of the ice! Needed a new yard broom which they had, not sure how up to the job it is but it was only a fiver! Got home to discover we had been charged twice for something so phoned their call centre and the overcharge has been credited, plus a few pence more as rounded up, to our loyalty card, I think it's the first practical use we have found for a Morrisons Card!

Yes we have a new dentist as well. She started just before Covid. Very pleasant lady but somehow I don't have quite the same confidence in her as our old dentist who retired. We had been with him for about 30 years and I always felt that there was nothing he didn't know about my teeth,
Helen I am pleased to hear that your appointments have been changed to lunchtimes so that your journey is a bit easier. Good to hear also that the staff are lovely. Are you affected by the nurses' strike?
It was bitterly cold when I was on duty at the Cathedral yesterday. We all had full thermals on and had so many layers that we looked like Michelin men! However there was a local school in practising for their Carol service that evening which was lovely.
We have had a jolly over to Stamford today, It was such a treat to look round nice shops selling lovely things. All the people out and about and serving in the shops were pleasant as well.
. I have now finished the Christmas shopping - hurrah! I was 'all behind' as we have been away and I wasn't well organised enough before we went I also treated us to a few nice Christmas bits in the Cheese and Deli shop. Looking at the weather forecast this evening I think we will all be wearing T shirts next week 3 -

A great day, cold but absolutely fantastic. Parts of the lakes are frozen and with very few people about it is just perfect.

Last bit of help in the garden today, then a horrible visit to the dentist, luckily made some soup in the slow cooker (nice BBC Food recipe for slow cooker minestrone.) Some left for tomorrow too.
I think dental stuff is now so advanced that it's got complicated and takes longer and it's exhausting!

Would love to see Stamford Millie, we couldn't park up with our M/H when we visited and will have to try again sometime!

We had a hard frost last night, and it looks as if it will be the same tomorrow, -2 C at the moment, but we did wake to a full sun which makes a change from the freezing fog that we have had over the two previous days. A late morning walk from the site before lunch then a drive out in the afternoon. Unexpectedly we found an HHA property open and enjoyed an hour and a half walk around its grounds. Our last night here before we move down to near York.

WN I had warning lights on the car yesterday... one was that one of the doors was open, It wasn't but opened it shut it hard and problem disappeared! Second put the car in reverse warning lights and beeper this time, so went round the back to check, no hadn't put the bin too near! It was bit of ice that covered the sensors so a quick wipe sorted that one out!

I have been down at DD's all day looking after Nathan in the morning and then both of the boys in the afternoon. Even colder today, -9 this morning, but sunny later on.
OH was left to deal with the building work and a couple of problems came up, so not yet finished. First there was no water coming out of the new basin tap, questions were asked about its suitability for low pressures, we did check that before purchasing, then the thought was the pipes in the loft might be frozen, or there could be air in the system.
Frost stat had kicked in again, so OH turned up boiler and hatch was opened to let heat into the loft. Water was left running at basin, it had been turned off up in the loft for a few days, and eventually whatever the problem was sorted itself out.
Second problem is worse.....the wrong parts have been delivered for the shower enclosure. We had opened the packages to check for any damage, but had not looked closely at exactly what was there, only that there was a door, an in line panel, and an end panel, which was what we had ordered .
Turns out they have sent the correct end panel, but the door/ in line panel are ones that fit between 2 walls rather than making a corner with the end panel, so completely different wall profiles. The parts sent cannot be installed together. We think the glass bits are correct, just the wall profiles are wrong, but that is not for us to pronounce on.
OH rang the suppliers and sent photos of the bits as requested, then they requested info off the original packaging, which we had not kept as it was rather dirty. She has explained again what the problem is, so the ball is back in their court. They have certainly not sent what we ordered.
This is going to take a good while to resolve, could be after Christmas, so builders have finished everything else and will return as soon as we have the correct bits. Just as well this is not our only shower!

They're perfectly polite and friendly, but they don't seen to have the experience to deal with much more than the most straightforward procedures. The old dentist used to 'have a go at anything' and, by and large, always with a successful outcome.

Performance with my U3A Choir today at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms. The staff and technicians were great, but the off stage acoustics weren't the best. We had a good concert though. Just two big concerts, a Carol Service and a handful of other services and practices to go until Christmas.... 🤣🤣🤣 Apologies if my appearance on CT is a little sporadic at the moment....

I can't lock my car unless all the doors are properly shut. It just beeps at me until I sort out which door it is. The worst thing is when you come to check the car just before bedtime, only to find one door isn't properly closed. I then have to go out in the cold and frost to go and sort it. 😀

OH changed his car just over 2 years ago and he still hasnt worked out all the warning lights. At the moment everytime we go out in the car a frost warning light comes on and it bleeps at us telling us it is cold - we know that! 😁

In a queue of stationary cars, mine tells me when the car in front is pulling away🤷♂️. Perhaps it thinks I might be too involved playing with my phone to notice🙄
Before I leave the car it tells me to check the back seat. Maybe I've forgotten the children 😄
