Take care robsail - our thoughts and prayers are with you too.  Must be incredibly difficult for you at this time of the year.

We've cut back a lot on the amount of cards we send out but I think an actual card is important although it is turning out to be quite an expense because of the postage,  Just a few more to do today - to post before tomorrow's deadline.

We had a splattering of snow yesterday, with places like Lynton and Woolacombe getting a good thick laying. Today we have it much thicker, unusual for us so early in the winter, so near the sea. As we laid in bed we heard a strange noise outside, couldn’t make it out. We live in a very quiet close, and now realise, it was a car driving past. Yesterday’s snow turned to rain,  slush, it froze, then quite heavy snow, it’s the tyres crunching through the ice under the snow! Very very treacherous out there. Don’t think I can even get to the postbox.

Good photo  Goldie I remember those sort of mornings when I used to help out with milking in Shropshire in the early sixties and the winter of 1963 where you did not know the top of the hedges were when walking up the local lane brr.

Anybody going to Broadway club site today will find they have snow, a friend staying there has sent us a couple of photos.  We have been down to -7.8C overnight and have a sharp frost this morning looks very wintery from the windows, birds getting through the bird food.

We are snow covered here as well, although only a light dusting. Those two years have flown by M, a sad anniversary, as is yours Millie.

    That’s a wonderful photo Goldie.

Sprinkle of snow for us today, they have been forecasting it all week but nothing until last night. It must be cold outside as its still laying on the roofs, cars and grass.

Nice and cosy indoors with the sun coming through the lounge window.

Christmas tree went up yesterday and a few other decorations. We don't do outdoors anymore but OH helps put up the village Dec's not this year though as we were still away.

We are going to my sisters house for Christmas lunch this year so I don't have much to do.

Youngest son and his family are hoping to be in their new house by Christmas. They have been busy decorating it so far, new carpets waiting to get fitted. Then it will be move in time. All excited as they have been living in a rented house since they got back from Malta 5 years ago.

Eldest son will be up here at the end of the week to collect his 2 teenagers from school, then back down the road for Christmas. He will be finished with the Army in March so not long now. Started job hunting plus getting their house up here back into some kind of order, after it  was rented out then empty for years. They need a new boiler and kitchen. Kitchen no bother but trying to get a new boiler might be an issue as there is a waiting time of 12 to 16 weeks, if he wants a boiler like ours. New front and back double glazed doors on order just waiting for a date for them to be fitted.

Busy times for both of them. Next week it will be 32 years since we returned from 20 years living in Germany. OH was coming out of the Army after serving 25 years. I remember what it was like starting out again new house, new jobs, I don't envy them.

I think I posted that I wasn't planning on going out? It was working quite well till Mrs C discovered tomorrow in the last second class posting day for Christmas. But still no big deal as she was going to write them this afternoon but... as we do our addresses on labels from the computer and at 3pm 'we' found the printer had run out of ink or dried up as we rarely print anything now so guess who had to go to Argos at 3:15 to get some?

Snowing again now and has been for about 40 minutes.

Been cold here frosty most the weekend but so far no snow although being on the coast we don’t normally get a lot of snow. Been helping 2nd youngest son decorate the house that he rents out previous tenant moved out a few weeks ago and he is planning on selling it now so helping get that done. Not a lot planned this week.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend

Robsail We used to have 2 Father Christmas floats in our area - Salvation Army and our local church but neither have been for a few years now. We live in hopes for this year. I always love to see them.

Talking of outside Christmas lights - we went to our daughter's this afternoon. They live in a close where everyone decorates their houses and it looks really pretty but they are all a bit miffed this year as some new neighbours have moved in and instead of all white lights like everyone else they have put up very bright colourful lights. laughing

Yesterday in MK we had the Redbull Home Run Event in CMK. For those that don't know Redbull Technology is based in MK. Apparently 30,000 attended the free event. They had a chance to see Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez drive their F1 cars through the Boulevards of CMK. We didn't go ourselves as we thought it would be too cold so just watched the live stream direct from the Redbull website. Not often you can get upfront and personal with an F1 car, well at least without spending in excess of £250 for a ticket!

Video here to give a flavour of the event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GtHA0MSF90
