Appalling Customer Service from Glossop Caravans
Bought a new Swift Escape 696 from them in April 2014. The hand over was a joke, because of delays in the workshop it was delayed by 4 hours.
When we finally got the van they where closing. During the hand over I noticed the battery box had a split in it where the mains lead passes into it, so I arranged for them to order a new one and we would arrange to get it fitted.
When I got the van home we noticed that a sofa infill cushion was missing, the windows wouldn't open because they where stuck to the rubber and the front windscreen blind was not shutting as it was catching on the rear view mirror.
Clearly the PDI inspection hadn't happened. About a month later the door lock broke while we were away in it. We where left locked out the van late at night as we had left the keys in the van and closed the door. We had to spend the night on the floor of a friends caravan before we called green flag. Greenflag had to break in for us. I did try Fiat Camper van assist at first but Glossop somehow hadn't managed to register us properly with them.
Bearing in mind that was in April and its now October nothing has been done yet.
The missing infill cushion was ordered by Glossop and the first one arrived about 2 months ago and was the wrong one, a second one arrived and was the wrong one. Two weeks ago the third one arrived and was the wrong one....
The battery box that they originally ordered was ordered incorrectly and all the wrong bits where delivered to Glossop so they had to re order the battery box.
After some time the door lock parts Arrived.
We booked it in with them on a Saturday to have all the problems sorted with pickup arranged for the following Saturday. Only 7 months after the original purchase oh.... and we still don't have the elusive infill cushion yet.
We where told to bring it up early on the Saturday morning so that they could start on it early that morning. We got up at 05:30 and drove up the 101 miles in the van and a car then drove back home.
We had a call from them on the Thursday 2 days before we where due to pick it up
The call was to tell us they had the wrong battery box and the wrong door parts. So Clearly they never started work on it last Saturday so we didn't have to get up @ 05:30 in the morning and get it to them by 08:30 ..........
I've contacted Swift who tell me that Glossop put the order in for the bits so they must have known what they where ordering.. I think Not.
The replacement battery box is arriving on the following Monday - new door parts in 14 days....
So they still have our van and we are supposed to be going to France in two weeks in it.
Swift have taken over the cusion fiasco and are going to source the correct one and send it to our home address.
