A word of warning

We were holidaying at our usual campsite in France this year and were unfortunate enough to witness the demise of someone else's caravan. We were woken about 3 in the morning to shouts and screams as their caravan caught fire, and despite the best efforts of other campers and the fire service, it was reduced to two wheels and a twisted chassis within about 30 to 45 minutes.

The cause?  A high wattage heater placed upon a tightly coiled domestic extension cable left overnight in their awning which overheated and caught fire.
