Towing with A-Frame in Spain

Just a warning for those of you who are going to be towing through Spain with an A-Frame. After 5 years towing around Europe with an A-frame this year on our return to Santander ferry we were stopped by the Civil Guardia Police, after 2 hours 6 police and an english interpeteur we were fined €40 on the spot or our vehicle would be put into a compound, luckliy my wife can drive so we had to unhitch and she had to drive from Madrid to Santander in a little 995cc Matiz. So if you do take your A-frame to Spain "watch out".
