Towing with a camper van - any advice please.

Having had both caravans & camper vans couldn't decide which we prefered so have decided best option is to get a small camper van to tow our caravan. Thinking about something based on either VW Transporter or Ford Custom Transit.
Anyone got any advice on things I will need to think about/consider?
Both would seem big enough to pull our van (MPTLM 1215Kg) but what BHP would it need to be?
