Safefill re-connecting to caravan.

On the last two occasions after filling my 20 ltre Safefill and then screwing the pig tail back onto the cylinder I have found that the brass lock nut just keeps turning and so is not tight. I have found if I momentarily open the gas valve on the cylinder there is a slight whiff of gas and then it is possible to give another half turn of the lock nut and get a perfect seal. It seems as if the mechanism on the cylinder needs to push a sealing device out a little which is acheved by a release of gas. Has anybody else found this?
