Need to tow a car or not?

Hi - only joined the club today and looking to get back into motorcaravanning after a 25 year children related break. What I'd like advice on is whether it's necessary / helpful totow a car as well. Looking to spend c6 months abroad each year, sighseeing
relaxing (just retiring) and playing golf. Need to get ourselves and golf clubs to and from golf clubs. Any views of relative merits of towing / car hire / taxis etc? Many thanks.
