What is a "best" pitch?

In numerous threads on this forum there is reference to the "best" pitch with reference to CC sites, but none with reference to C & CC where you are allocated a pitch.
Surely all pitches are the same and why get flustered because your pitch does not have an ideal view? Surely you are not going to spend the whole weekend staring at the view?
I never have and never will understand this reference to "best" pitch as long as the pitch is suitable for our needs, we are not bothered.
