Newbie in need of help

Entirely new to motor homes and all aspects of mobile-homing (if such a word exists). Embarrassed to admit have forgotten all the "do this,  then that and turn this and then that will work, but not when ...." is there anyone on here who has is an experienced
mobile home owner / user who can explain (in extremely simple terms) how the various gas / electrical / water systems etc work in a VW compass navigator?
