We have to PAY site and entry fees at shows?

I've never attended a caravan/motorhome/camping 'show' and I can't remember the exact details whilst having my usual cursory flick through the mag prior to recycling it, but I was astounded to read an ad for a 'show'  proclaiming 'Special rates' for 2 nights'  (?) pitch at the special price of 30 quid (?) and reduced entry fee of £7.

Don't the exhibitors, food wagons etc. pay the organisers for sales space?

Maybe these events are merely ritualistic fleecing gatherings preceding the Spring migration of wheeled herds?
