CC Tours and Excursions

We are contemplating going abroad with our van this year for the first time, does anyone have any experience of the caravan club tours, are they a good way to travel and see things whilst you find your feet. Does age of van matter, it has been serviced,
habit check etc and passed with flying colours, any info or tips would be grateful.........................
