Which towbar for a Kuga?
We have agreed a deal on a 2012 Ford Kuga 2.0 163bhp 4x4. I realise the best towbar is the one that suits the pocket, but what would Kuga owners advise?

Settermum, congratulations. We have that make and model of Kuga and it's a lovely smooth tow car and everyday use is a pleasure to drive even in town. We fitted a Westfalia detachable tow bar which cost £552 in 2014 at an independent tow bar specialist in
Lincoln. This included the 13 pin plug, wiring, number plate and full fitting. You may hear some talk of bumpers having bits cut out of them to make the towbar fit, this is true, however the cut is small and is underneath the bumper and can only be seen if
you look under the car. Enjoy your new car....what colour did you buy?0 -
Thanks ADD46, I saw a You Tube Video of the Westfalia detatchable. I liked the look of it, so neat and seemingly easy to deal with. So it is the favorite at the moment. The cutting of the bumper is definately a worry but will have to trust the fitter to
know what he's doing. Our Kuga is Moondust Silver, not my fav colour especially as our current Mondeo is the same colour however it was the least important thing on the wish list. Would have liked the powershift gearbox, but didn't find one with all the other must haves. I've
had a Kuga before but never towed with it. That one was Mars Red, absolutely loved it, never got lost in the car park.Looking foward to next week to collect it and hope we can get the towbar fitted before we are due away with the van at Easter. Thanks again.

I've got a fixed towbar on my Mk1 which didn't entail any cutting of panels. Can't remember the make but if anyone is desperate to know, I'll go and have a grovel underneath and see if I can read the bumf stamped on it.

Write your comments here...Probably this one, the other two makes need a cut, although one is a little cheaper.
