Swapping pitches

Can you tell me if it's o k to swap or move pitches when someone leaves? Just reading review on trewethett farm, and they mention as soon as someone leaves a premium pitch someone will immediately swap, is this the done thing on all sites or is it against
the rules. Do you think they let the wardens know ?
