Hi im brand new here and have just ordered a new buccaneer commadore. I have added a few extras to be fitted from the brochure. I want to be able to install and use alde smart control via my phone. The problem is looking at the alde genuine accessories book
at the truma air con unit aventa comfort it says will work with it. How does it comunicate with it as truma works on its own system called i-net. The salesman says it doesnt need alde smart control and it will work from my phone.im not sure hes right from
what i have been reading.

No idea. I would contact the manufacturer help/information. If I had doubts I would ensure that the salesman confirms his words in writing

Write your comments here...I think the salesman is somehow using the tracker called phanton that standared on the van this somehow allows you to switch on and off heating /hot water. very basic controls and still not sure how it controls truma air con unit.
Looking at alde smart control it looks an easy fit but how do i get it to talk with the truma.

I don't understand this app system and can't see the point of it at all but I guess you would need to be in an area receiving a 3/4G phone signal to use it. Am I right? If so, bear in mind that caravan sites and rural areas often don't lend themselves to
    good phone signal reception.

its been out a few years and the amount of times i could of done with switching heating on before i got back to the van.

I have just phoned alde tec people and there is an extra cable you run from truma air con back to the control unit.then together with the smart control will work with the air con unit.he said part number is 3020028 is 6m cable and 3020028 12m cable.    my
only problem now is as its a factory fit air con this extra wire will not be there and i will have to run trunking along roof back to control unit

I can see the point of being able to turn on the heating from afar, but do you really need to be able to do same with the air con?

If so could you not  just use Truma's own system?

We have the Alde Smart Box, ours is about 5 years old, it uses  a cable to connect  to the Alde controller.  We send it a text message to interrogate it or give an instruction, it also has GPS to give the van location.

We also have a Phantom Tracker and alarm, but the Smart Box does not communicate with those.

We also have air con (Dometic) but just set it to say 22 degrees if hot and leave it to do its own thing while we are out.

Truma own system I believe is the i-net and I don't think it goes with the alde system.I know it's not so important to be able to control air con but you just expect it to work alongside the heating system. It's like avtex tv I have 2 yes it records but
you can't watch another channel at the same time. One of the upgrades is a sat dish as we want to go touring abroad but it looks like it's only got one output meaning both tvs would need to be on the same channel. At least if it had two outputs I could of
recorded on one tv whilst watching the other. As both the air con and sat dish are fitted at the factory I don't think they will be able to put in the extra cable for the truma air con or a lmb with two connections so both tv will work independently. Just
want things to work and do what you assume it would do

I think with 2 appliances from different manufacturers (Alde and Truma) you cannot really expect them to work together.  Nor would I think that remotely controlling the air con is really something you would ever find necessary.

I have spoken to truma technical and there is a cable to connect truma air con to alde smart box. I have pictures showing where they plug in. It is called truma/alde cable and comes in 4 different lengths.this should  enable me  to control it all from the
alde control panel and also via your phone. Just as we turn heating on or up in the UK it is probably more usefully to turn Aircon on whilst touring abroad.

Write your comments here...When we had aircon in the technician's office at work we only used a remote control, the unit was too high up to operate by hand,

Swift command will also control the aircon and alde etc.

the caravan air con units come with a remote handset, all the controls are on it, not on the unit itself.

OP wants to be able to activate the unit from afar by sending a command to the Alde Smartbox.

Just found this post. I expect you have found out by now that the Alde Smart control no longer comes as standard!

We took delivery of our Commodore in November and it is seasonally sited. We installed the Smart control and it is brilliant for heating control on its seasonal site.

I an going to put a Truma Aventa on in the summer, and it will connect to the Alde control.

But you do need the Smart Control before it works with your phone.

If you have got your Commodore, how are you enjoying it?
