How welcome are dogs in Switzerland?

Thinking of spending up to a week in Switzerland next year as part of a longer trip in a motorhome, and taking our dog along.  Does anyone have any advice, suggestions or warnings about taking dogs there?  Thinking particularly about places like restaurants (dogs widely accepted in France) and also taking them on public transport.  Also of course, Switzerland being a very clean country, the rules and facilities for cleaning up after your dog?
