Site time out

I composed a longish post, went to post it and of course lost it because I had been timed out of the site and I forgot to copy it to my clip board before attempting to post it. I have been asking for a warning message to be displayed that this is about to happen but so far to no avail. I have also no idea if we will see anymore upgrades to CT functionality.

It would help greatly if it could be explained how this time out actually operates, what is the time out duration and what actions trigger a reset?

As a result of the time out the post was never made and so far I have not recomposed it.
