Powrtouch mover problem

I have a powrtouch mover attached to my single axle van - just over 2 years old. No problems until recently when it took 3 attempts before van would move. A light was flashing on the handset which I believe indicates low battery. The van's leisure battery
is fully charged. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a battery in the handset which neds replacing periodically? Excuse my ignorance!!
