Avtex Snipe signal loss
I have a Snipe which I am delighted with, used it in central France last year. Only one failure, too many trees. I don't have it permanently mounted. I have an early nineties Winnebago. There are numerous internal connectors for the TV. The roof antenna
has been removed but all coax and connectors left. I stayed at a site with an antenna connection on the post. Out of curiousity I connected the cable to an internal tv socket and then could get a picture from any socket I tried. Great I thought, I can mount
a new socket on the outside and connect it to the original coax and have sat tv without the Avtex cables coming through the door or window. Failure, no signal received. For an experiment connected 5 metres of coax to the Avtex coax and it worked, then tried
8 metres, failure. Contacted Avtex, they said plumbing it in to an existing coax setup doesn't always work, but had no solution. I know from dabbling with amateur radio that there are numerous types of coax. Is there a way to boost the signal? Or any suggestions
or advice. Many thanks.
