Excellent site in Sorrento
After avoiding Sorrento for a few years because of the poor approach to the town and quality of some campsites as recorded some forums, my wife and I took the plunge this year and used a campsite in Piano di Sorrento which I found on the internet. It is not in any club books as far as I know. The site, 'Bluegreen Camping' was absolutely brilliant. After the fairly hectic approach to Sorrento from Naples this site was like an oasis in the desert. The places are large and spacious (we have a 7metre caravan), mostly still covered in grass because it is not so busy. When we arrived at the end of May there were only 5 outfits on the site which has 50 pitches. The facilities are good and very clean. There is also a restaurant on site. The local train station is a 20 minute walk away and connects to most places you would want to visit in the area. If you have been putting off visiting this area then do so no more. They have a very good web site with two maps showing two routes in. One for cars and one for caravans/campers. Don't arrive on a Monday unless after 4.00pm as the approach road is closed due to the market. I wholeheartedly recommend this site. So, go on, be brave and give Sorrento a go. You won't regret it!!
