Driving London to Milan

Hi, going to Italian GP at Monza this year, driving London to Milan and taking the caravan.  Has anyone made this journey?  We have single axel caravan and Landrover Discovery so not too worried about terrain. Realise the Alps are in the way but have no
idea if the journey gets a bit hairy at points?  Would love to hear other experiences and recommendations.
