Chateau Des Gandspettes Arrival & ID
Firstly this site is extremly nice & very well located as the overnight stop after getting over the channel. We travelled at Easter (Good
Friday) & a combination of poor weather & heavy traffic meant we were late for our planned Eurotunnel, this was obvious with some distance to travel. We range CDG to tell them this, not a problem was the response. In the event it was late (2300 late......)
when we arrived. We were met by the overnight security guard who insisted on seizing my passport, which I wasn't really pleased about. I offered him my spare photocard driving licence but it had to be a passport or nothing. This concerned me as there were
several other men around the bar/table tennis area with the security guard & my underlying concern was whether my passport would still be in france the next morning, or whether it would have returned to England with someone else! I know that we can use ACSI
cards etc but mine had expired & my new one had not arrived before leaving home. I can fully appreciate the need for sites to see ID of who are staying with them, but I feel that other members staying at CDG & arriving late need to be aware that they might
also encounter such a situation.
