I had the warning symbol light "High Level Water in Diesel Filter, come on 200 miles from home. My van is on a 2008 Boxer.

I have always used premium brand diesel but on this occasion filled it with supermarket diesel. I bled the filter twice and sprayed the connections with WD40 the light comes on shortly after engine start and remained on. We carried on with our tour and completed
about a further 600 miles. All other engine parameters normal. Once we got home I bled the filter twice and found absolutely no sign of water, I then used the wife's hairdryer on the electrical connections to dry out any damp and again applied WD40, lightstill
comes on shortly after start up. .

I Phoned my dealer who got in touch with the garage their reply was:-

This is quite a common glitch, perfectly safe to drive, pop in and we will cancel the warning light. No doubt it will cost me 40 quid or so!
