Daytime Running Lights and the caravan lights lit.
.I refer to the January Club magazine, page 78, "Ask Your Club" "Light on the subject" in which the technical team advise that DRLs should operate independantly of the caravan lights and if the caravan lights were also lit then that would be illegal.
My tow car is a 1992 Volvo 940 estate and you may be aware that the one of the first manufacturers to fit DRLs was Volvo. Whenever the engine is running my car has all obligatory lights lit, the dipped headlamps operating in a "dim dip" mode. Unlike cars of
a more recent vintage there is no facility to switch these lights off whilst the engine is running.
Does that mean that I am committing an offence or does it only apply to cars from a particular first registration date?
