ggregu, it's hard to imagine at the beginning of the relationship with a pup that the depth of feeling & love would be so strong by the end. They are family, no other way to put it. Your loss is felt by many but not the way you are suffering. My thoughts are with you, time will ease the pain but the memories are thankfully still sharp in years to come, they will be good memories-don't worry.

Thanks again for your thoughts, hugs and sympathy. It all helps to make a rotten time a little more bearable.

Think the first time away in the van will be the worst, even though I have the other dogs. She was such a character! 🐾

It's awful ggreggu, when we lost one of ours, taking the other two away, and on well known walks was just awful, but bit by bit it eases. There are still places we won't walk, even five or six years on, and every time I catch sight of the teeth marks on one corner of drawer cabinet in our old van I feel a pang! Little blighter did that one night as a pup! Haven't been able to bring myself to sand it down and fill it! Keep strong, lots of us will be thinking about you!

Thanks TDA. It's only just two weeks ago since we lost Millie so it's still very raw. The pups have kept both me and my other Westie going. Everything is so new and exciting to them, they are a tonic!

Thank you once again for your kind thoughts.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Gill.

Time is a great healer, but it can take a lot of it.

It's good that you have your other young dogs to help you through.

    Heartfelt sympathies.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have been thinking about your young dog since you replied to my post in September and hoping that you would get a cure. It's so awful for you to lose such a young animal.

Millie will be waiting at Rainbow Bridge.

Hi Gill and Kerry.  I have only just noticed this thread again.  Sorry to hear of the sad losses.  I really dread the day when we have to say goodbye to our little one.
