Camping les Pommiers. it's on the edge of town just off the roundabout about 3 or 4 mins from the port. Not the most up market site but ideal for an overnight. The site stays open for the late night ferry.

There are many posts on here about this site. Some hate it most use it.

I usually stay at chateau de Martragny on the way back for the early morning ferry as it's only about 20 mins away, but it's getting a bit pricey now. Also I wondered if there were any CL type sites nearby ? I will be travelling back early August.

Debdaleman, Camping Le Bout de la Ville at Clinchamps sur Orne (just south of Caen city) looks like the sort of place you might be looking for.

But honestly, if it's just for one night before the early morning ferry I would pay and stay at one of the sites at Ouistreham itself - to be sure of getting there on time.

There are these two farm sites (found through
    Bienvenue a la Ferme)
which are 'near' to Ouistreham, but perhaps not near enough for an 8.30 am ferry crossing.
