Swift Challenger 480 front windows

Just got back from a trip away in the heatwave and it's the first time I have opened the front windows fully. When I went to get my Aquaroll handle from the front locker, the lid fouled the lower corners of the front windows causing nasty scratches!
Has anyone else experienced this bad design on any other models?

 Also, the Heki rooflight which has three open positions, will slam shut in the slightest breeze on the first two notches. Any suggestions to hold it open? Preferably not a three inch screw!
