Does anyone tow with a Vauxhall Astra 2.0lt. CDTi ?

I am undecided whether to go for a Ford 2.0lt CDTi, or a Vauxhall 2.0lt. Either of these is a good match for my Lunar 462. Any info on MPG, both solo and towing would be appreciated.
