Just read an article in Le Figaro which highlights bogus police are operating on some motorways in the South of France and on the A13. Mainly working at night they stop tourists and get them to open the boot of their cars or open their Motorhomes and ask
to see wallets for ID purposes the pinch them and scarper.  Please beware. If approached insist on going to a police station and don't give them anything or open anything.
