Don't know about the best place to station yourself but we enjoyed staying at the site in Ribeauville and cycled out north from site to Selestat through the vineyards, south to Kayserberg and Riquewihr and Colmar. There is also a decent
site (or was) last time I was there at Riquewihr.

Hope you enjoy the wine. We enjoyed drinking the local Tokay Pinot Gris when there last (about 5 years ago)

For lazy cyclists like me perhaps the municipal  site at Molsheim - because it's near the railway station and I could cycle 20 miles down to Selestat and come back with the bike on the train. Smile

I'd agree, Molsheim at the municipal or Obernai, again at the municipal. Both towns have a train station.

We have stayed at both sites - reviews on our blog.

    Pictures of Obernai
    here
    and Molsheim
    here
Obernai does have hardstanding pitches but Molsheil is all on grass which is fine in dryish weather but a bit slippy for motorhomes if its been very wet.

We liked the Municipal site in Equisheim, the town of course is lovely. Lots of cycling in the area.
