Universal signal for your roof light is open

Ok no laughing now.  We have recently seen several people driving down the motorway with their roof light wide open in the pouring rain.  I guess it was not shut properly and has blown open.

Now how would you let them know.  Flashing lights seems to not work!  Just know I would not light to get to site and find by van soaked inside.
