help needed cycle carriers

Hi my outfit is a kia sportage and ace award firestar, i am considering using a rear mounted cycle carrier to carry 2 bikes, i am worried about whether this will impede the turning circle and cause any damage to the caravan.Has anyone used a rear mounted
carrier when towing i would be grateful for any advice cheers
